For children between the ages of four to five we offer a programme designed to introduce children to the reading language, early math and handwriting skills that they will learn at school. Children are encouraged to sign their name on arrival and know their full name address and phone number as part of their belonging in the larger world.
To increase their concentration and listening skills matt time is held every day and the children are expected to focus and participate. Children make self-directed and guided choices, participate in small groups and projects and reflect upon and document their learning experiences
The focus of this programme is also on independency, as children are encouraged to eat by themselves, be responsible for their own belongings and talk to each other in order to sort out their problems verbally without adult involvement.
We aim for our children to move to primary school, socially prepared, excited to learn, and well versed in the language, math, and science skills they’ll need to succeed. We have a strong relationship with the local schools.
