Our Vision: “Children’s wellbeing and development is at the HEART of every decision we make”

Our Philosophy and Values:

Kaitiakitanga – The natural environment plays an integral part in our children’s learning. We are guardians of our native environment and surroundings.

Kidstown values the fostering of love and care of our natural world.

Manaakitanga – Walking and the local community – Natural heritage is at the heart of our children’s learning and links are made to our centre pepeha with regular walks in our local community and to our maunga/mountain (Maungarei)

Kidstown values explorations and adventures in our community.

Whakawhanaungatanga – We build strong relationships with children, parents and our whānau.

Kidstown values and fosters friendships and inclusiveness with parents and whānau. Kidstown values each child’s unique language, culture and identity.

Mana – Teachers nurture te tamiti (children) with aroha and manaaki to grow their maia (courage), mana and knowledge.

Kidstown values meaningful interactions and time shared with tamaiti to help them to treasure themselves as individuals. “ Little individuals, big ambitions “ He tangata iti, he wawata nui.

Ako  – Kaiako (teachers) are knowledgeable in theories of learning; are friendly and approachable and love each child for who they are.

Kidstown values ongoing learning and excellence in teaching.
